The day I met the spiritualist.
Working in a different store this time, I worked with two black men.
In the afternoon one of them invited me for a coffee break. We went to the lunchroom and there was no one else there, just the two of us.
We made small talk for a while, and then he asked me to go out with him. I did not want to do this, but because he was black and I was white, I knew that it would be perceived that I was racist.
I did what I had done a few times in the past, I told him that I didn’t think he would like to go out with me as I went to church and read the Bible.
He said that he read the Bible that he was a spiritualist (They talk to the dead among other things which are forbidden) also they don’t believe the Bible so he was lying big time.
The next moment I heard myself loudly saying; "Jesus is the way!" before I could say more, he jumped up, stood by the door and yelled back that he read the Bible.
Again I yelled back; "Jesus is the way!" When I later went back to work, I could tell that the other man was also a spiritualist.
As friendly as they had been to me before, so hostile they were to me now. I was sure glad when it was time for me to go home.
I told my pastor what had happened and I asked him; “Why did that man get so upset and hostile when all I did is tell him that Jesus was the way?”
My pastor laughed and said; “Because you gave him God’s own word and that is very powerful.”
Strangely it had come out of my mouth, without my consciously thinking.
